Philaposh Staff

Volunteers do much of the work of the organization, but there are 2 full-time staff members and 1 part-time member. Staff members belong to the Newspaper Guild Local 10, which is now part of the Communications Workers of American Local 38010. PhilaPOSH is also a dues paying member of five county labor councils in Pennsylvania and New Jersey. Staff members have received no less than 10 awards for excellence from various organizations.


Jim Moran

Director

Jim was born in Philadelphia in 1939 and was a member of ACTWU, IUE, USWA, UAW, IBT, TNG and CWA. For the past 15 years Jim has been an Executive Board Member of TNG/CWA 38010. Jim attended the first PhilaPOSH training program in 1975 and after volunteering for 2 years on the PhilaPOSH Board as its first Chair, he was hired as a full time staffer in May 1977. Jim has been the Director for the past 12 years.


Aggie Moran

Aggie was born in Glasgow, Scotland and came to the United States in 1957. She worked at Progress Lighting for 17 years before leaving the job with multiple repetitive strain injuries.

Aggie was a shop steward most of her years at Progress and a member of the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers Local 2005. A PhilaPOSH volunteer since the earliest days Aggie joined the staff as a part time Bookkeeper in 1992.


Bob Myers

Bob was born in Philadelphia. He became a Shop Steward in the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers Local 2005 in 1975. Later he was a Shop Steward in the U.E. local 174 starting in 1976 and rose to be President of the Local spending 13 years on the job at SMS Automotive in Philadelphia.

Bob volunteered with Philaposh in 1985 as a Board member and later as a staffer. Bob joined the staff as a part timer in 1991 and became a full time staff member in 1995.
